The Scottish Highlands and Islands

Day 1. After joining our coach we take a leisurely journey through the Scottish Highlands to our first overnight stop at the family-run Morar Hotel on the ‘Road to the Isles’ near Mallaig. This hotel commands breathtaking views of the famous silver sands of Morar and the Inner Hebridean Islands of Rhum and Eigg. Day 2. Today we travel ‘over the sea to Skye’ on the ferry from Mallaig to Armadale. We continue through some of Skye’s finest scenery before taking the Uig to Lochmaddy ferry to the Isle of Benbecula where our base for two nights will be the Dark Island Hotel near Liniclate. Day 3. Today’s excursion is to South Uist where we will visit Groigearraigh and Loch Baghasdail before returning to our base in the Dark Island Hotel. Day 4. After breakfast we travel on the ferry from Berneray to Leverburgh and via the Isle of Harris to the Isle of Lewis and the Caberfeidh Hotel, Stornoway; our base for the next two nights. Day 5. Today’s excursion is to the Standing Stones at Callanish and Port Ness in the north of the island before returning to our base in the Caberfeidh Hotel. Day 6. After breakfast we travel on the ferry from Stornoway to Ullapool on the mainland continue on to the Ben Wyvis Hotel, a Victorian Mansion in Strathpeffer where we stay overnight. Day 7. After breakfast we travel homeward.
